Business Properties

Overview

Business Properties holds the settings that shape the rest of AMS, like your pricing defaults and SKU prefix. Go to My Business > Business Properties. Only business admins can open it.

The page has two tabs:

• Properties — your settings, shown as cards
• Change History — a record of changes made in your account

Changing your settings

1. Click Edit Properties.
2. Change what you need in the pop-up.
3. Click Save Changes.

Nothing changes until you save.

Notifications

Email Notifications is a list of email addresses that get copies of order emails, order status updates and event reminders. Separate addresses with a semicolon, like me@example.com; studio@example.com.

SKU settings

• SKU Prefix — a few letters that start every product code AMS makes for you, like "CP0001", "CP0002". AMS starts you off with the first letters of your business name. Change it any time.
• Regenerate SKUs — gives all your active products new codes in order, using your current prefix. You'll see a preview first. Products where you typed your own code are skipped.

Pricing defaults

AMS uses these to work out a price for every piece:

• Labor Rate/Hr — what an hour of your time is worth. Used when working out a product's cost.
• Retail Markup — how many times its cost a piece sells for. 2 means double the cost.
• Wholesale Discount — the percent off retail that shops pay when they buy from you. 50 means they pay half.
• Wholesale Min Order — the smallest order a wholesale buyer can place.

Example: a piece with $10 of materials and 30 minutes of work, at $60 an hour, costs $40 to make. With a 3.5 markup it sells for $140. With a 50% wholesale discount, shops pay $70. The pop-up shows this example with your own numbers as you type.

Changing a rate re-prices your products.

• When you click Save Changes, every product picks up the new rates.
• Before you save, the pop-up tells you how many products that is.
• Products with Lock Markup Rate turned on keep their own rates. Turn it on in a product's pricing.

New to AMS? The Get set up list on Home has a Set my pricing button. It opens these three rates in one place. Consignment commission is set on each retailer, not here.

Currency and time zone

• Currency — the money symbol AMS shows everywhere.
• Time Zone — used for the dates and times AMS shows you (including your trial end and renewal dates), and for reminders.

Stock thresholds

• Low Stock Threshold — stock at or below this number is highlighted yellow.
• Critical Stock Threshold — stock at or below this number is highlighted orange.

Subscription & Billing

This card shows your plan and its status.

• Change plan switches between plans.
• Manage Billing is where you update your card or see invoices.

Change History

The Change History tab lists changes made in your account: who made them, when, and what changed. Click View on a change to see the details. For many recent changes you can click Undo to put things back the way they were. The Change History page in this section explains more.
